Re-Irradiation: Radiobiological, Technological and Clinical Conditions

The effectiveness of new anti-cancer therapies has led to a generalized increase of the survival rate of patients affected by neoplasm. During the last few years the cancer disease has turned into “chronic”, with a prolongation of life expectation as well as an improvement of patients’ quality of life. This improvement is also linked to the ability to offer to the patient the suitable treatments for the control of cancer disease recurrence.

This Conference has the aim to study the state of re-irradiation, concerning the relapse therapy upon parts already treated, following the new radiotherapy technologies and radiobiology knowledges.

Thanks to the participation of International Experts we want to obtain particular and specific skills in order to properly set up a re-irradiation treatment. Through the “round table meeting” we want furthermore to study the clinical indications and recommendations for this kind of treatment, trying to let it be well assimilated by all the involved oncology science professional figures.
